This tree is provided to family historians without prejudice. I
have constructed most of my family trees using the data I have available, and
in a few cases it is estimated as the best fit from
available choices. In this tree, several of the links are yet to be proved, so
any help that you can give to confirm any line would be appreciated by me and
others searching in this family. More modern families also need your inputs,
because as I can link modern families to each other, and thus it enables a
focus on their common ancestry. The memories of one branch may not be complete,
but yet may fill in gaps of another branch. Only by a
concerted effort can we really define the true lineage. Help me to help you by
sharing what you have. Many additional details have been provided by other
researchers and where possible I have included the contributor's email addresses
within the file next to their families, however there are countless others also
involved. I am willing to also add you in to your KITTO family. My thanks to
you all.

(2) Charles KITTOW bp. Jane NORTHEY b. c1827 Launceston, Con, Can
anyone provide any information on the ancestors and descendants of Charles
and Jane Kitto, both born in 1827? Charles was from Southill
in Cornwall, Jane from Launceston. Their first child was Marina (possibly
Merina) b.1857 in Liskeard. At some time between 1857 and 1881 they moved
from Cornwall to Oldham, Lancashire. Any info welcome. (family of James KITTO < mmkitto@aol.com

STEALING
AT LISKEARD. JANE KITTOW, 30, was charged with having at Liskeard, on the 15th
of March, stolen four and half yards of black ribbon, the property of Mr. JOHN
VENNING. Mr. HINGSTON prosecuted. The prosecutor is a draper at Liskeard, and
on the 15th of March, the prisoner called at his shop and asked to look at some
ribbons. A box of ribbon was shown to
her, and after looking at them, she selected four remnants. She then asked to be shown some gloves. Miss PARKIN, the assistant who was serving
her, went to another part of the shop to get the gloves, and on the way
happening to look back, she saw the prisoner snatch up a roll of ribbon and
conceal it under her arm. She brought
the gloves, and then charged the prisoner with having taken a roll of
ribbon. The prisoner begged her not to
tell Mr. Venning and to forgive her. She, however, told the prosecutor who gave
the prisoner into custody. Guilty. Four Month Hard Labour.
