FAMILIES from the
VARIOUS COUNTIES LEI
This is a KITTO family, although
the spelling [] into KETTOW and then CATO in Leicestershire. They are recorded
in the 1841 and 1851 census as KITTO, but children are registered as CATO. This
family comes from the research of Mike NICHOLLS JiMi@nich66.fsnet.co.uk
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

(NOTES: the 16th Foot had been decimated in an insurgency in

I did know of the small Cato group in Blaby. I researched them in
detail but could find no links to my own family. Cato is a name
in its own right, although the origins are not really known. It was of
course (also) a Roman name, and that of a famous censor 2000 years ago.
Strangely most of the Catos in
Mike NICHOLLS May 2009.
